famous theologian stevie wonder tried to warn us years ago that "when you believe in things that you don't understand, then you suffer." and all i want to say is that i think this punxsutawney phil thing is bogus.for those who don't know, punxsutawney phil is a famous ground hog who predicts every year whether spring will come early or not. this year, he's predicted an early spring.
but a quick look at today's weather report reveals… cold and snowy for the foreseeable future. to be more specific, that's snow today, snow tomorrow, snow saturday, and snow on sunday. and temperatures range from -8C (the high) to -19C; since it's going to be windy, the wind chills may reach into the -30s. even in montreal, that's not spring.
phil doesn't know jack about the weather. or maybe he ran back into his hole because he intuited that all of this inhospitable weather was en route. he's a tricky little guy!
